Yeah same as in World of Tanks. The grind just gets so much faster (for newer players to not have such a disadvantadge), less players, players figuring stuff faster out (due netdecks ) etc. Thats why there are less and less real people in the lower ranks. So Blizzard has to fill it up with bots (or where they are needed).
3 could also be Goldwing or Bronze Explorer , but yeah i guess this would be a bit much for Pure Paladin. My guess is they try to push some kind of "cheat minion earlier out" archetype, with Lead Dancer and Annoy-o-Troupe .
Unfortunately it seems that’s how humans react to change or unknown stuff.
I also see this in other games and their forums. In World of Tanks for example if you look in the forum before every new patch ( when they announce it) an outsider would think WG is completely incompetent and the game dies in a couple days. ( It’s almost a standard that people threaten to quit or stop spending money). Even if they make a REALLY good patch where my buddies say; NOW literally none can complain.... And they just shake their heads when I read from the forum.
But the mods there know that only a small minority is so invested and easily triggered by any changes, and impossible to satisfy, that they respond to them ( if it’s somewhat respectful and constructive) , but obviously they know it’s not as black and white how people portray it.
This is actually also something that triggers me a bit when streamers only pay attention to negative comments. Even if 99% are positive, the human mind is made to learn from bad things that’s why we pay attention to it ( but I do think a good streamer should find a balance to that and ignore sometimes a flat out insulting guy) .
I wonder if they learned anything from Ultimate Infestation. If they give a class with the ability to ramp up mana fast, also very strong lategame options , it will always create a negative gaming experience. Since unlike with aggro you actually have options to counter that, with the opponent having 10 mana while you’re at 5 it’s virtually impossible to overcome that.
A good counter back in the days were 1 drops that scaled in power, so they could easily race Druids that didn’t do anything in the first turns.... But tbh it was correct to nerf them, but they should also kept an eye on Druids ramping abilities.
Seems like every rogue has it in there deck, it's just that good.
Well its like preperation but for minions...
Its problematic when there are too powerful Battlecry minions avaible. Like we had with Nzoth. Suddenly Rogue was the best Control deck when they made endless Krathuts and whatnot.
At first i was also in the "There must be one dominant lategame archetype" ,and that Murlocs are somewhat balanced because they are mediocre in the early/midgame, but if you see EVERY frickin Lobby at least 3 guys forcing Murlocs because it just works for one guy you know we have a problem.
Yeah, i saw several reviews now from pros and whatnot and everyone says its a good card , or its a 2 mana Faceless. But when do we ever played Faceless for the stats? Never! It was always because of the minions cardtext or the effect of the card.
Also hes just dead so much of the time , not just on turn 2. Against Rogue and Warriors with their small Lackeys , against new OTK decks, or when Druid really pumps out big minions they flood the board with them an on curve Shotbot deals the dmg to win the game . And there is the next problem Paladin has issues of killing A minion directly . Wich means if you play braggart on 5 and make a idk. 4/6 (and thats optimistic) you cant even swing the board , like what else does Paladin with the 3 mana ? Play a 3 drop? Aldor Peacekeeper would be the best i guess otherwise just playing a wheeney or heropower is horrible.
There is no way a playable Paladin runs more than one copy of this card (maybe 1 if the meta allows it).
Nahh no way Lord Barov is a Paladin card. In control your are just missing the activatores , Consecration alone isnt enough. In all my games with Libram Pally i rarely felt i needed more Equality effects. Its always the pure aoe spell thats missing . Even Viper said Pure Pally would be so much better if Paladin had a 3rd Consecration....
And in aggro Pally you dont wanna play a 3 mana 3/2 wich is bad on curve , and if you cant use him later to kill the opponent, you weaken your own board and let the opponent do the boardclear by simply killing a 3/2..
Well then we see things differently. I doubt aggro DH wants to play this over an actual threat. Like Viper said , if you play this vs Control , its very likely the other 4-7 cards in the opponents hand can handle the situation, especially since you just spend 4 mana for a 4/3... Also this can be pretty clunky to play in aggro with other outcast cards, but we will see , maybe it sees play .
Totally agree. In the past they printed 1 drops that snowballed out of Control and won the game by themselfes.
The only card thats worrying me in this set is Gibberling . Its actually not unrealistic for someone to have
Gibberling Coin, Innervate, idk Adorable Infestation and suddenly you have 6/6 worth of stats on board on turn 1! Not that unrealistic and at the same time unfun for the guy reciving it.
I would have to agree Star Student Stelina is very far from being a '1'. Gaining information from 3 cards that they're holding is huge, not to mention you get to reduce their hand size. This is what made Madame Lazul so good, it was the huge information gain you got from her ability. For Aggro, Star Student Stelina is even better because you can remove their best counter from hand. She is like a 3 or 4 dude.
It depends if you see a World where Control DeamonHunter is a viable (at least tier 2 ) deck.
If not it doesnt matter if the card by itself is better than Madame Lazul. If DH is still a tempo/aggro class you dont play a gameplan interrupting card with questionable effect. You either play lots of stats, carddraw or removal. No way an aggrodeck can spend 4 mana do nothing immediate to the board/face.
Professor Slate 1 star? He isn't limited to only a spell damage hunter. Professor Slate + 1 Rapid Fire is literally a 5 mana 3/4 destroy 2 minions of your choice. Just pop him and 2 rapid fires in any hunter deck...
Thats the mistake most people make when evaluating cards outside of classes with absurd carddraw. Just like Pyro+Libram of Justice isnt op and is actually hard to pull of since you always seem to miss a part of that combo, the same goes for Hunter. Hunter isnt a class that can hold on for combo peaces.(Classes with healing can do that, and even there ...) Every card basically does something broken or proactive.
Generally speaking you never wanna play 2 bad cards to make 1 good combo, unless you have godlike carddraw or its a gamewining one.

‘Yes, but you thought him silly, and you thought me silly.’ "Because I read your errand in your eyes. But I am not afraid now." Three soldiers stood before the open door and amused themselves by provoking these people in the most inhuman manner, by abusing them and telling them that later on they would be hanged or shot. The poor fellows shivered and their teeth clattered. I, the newly arrived "swine," was treated in much the same way, but I reduced the insolent blusterers into the quietest people of the world by warning them that by and by I would ask the commanding officer whether his soldiers had the right to call a Netherlander a "swine." That put some heart into my fellow-victims, and I urged them that they would do best by replying calmly to any questions which the commanding officer might put177 to them. They actually became more composed, and told me the following: when occasionally he strikes solid earth. He tries to lighten not in New York during this awful weather. Then, on an ebony-tree, overgrown with succulent leaves forming an edging to every bough, is a bird—as it would seem—a lilac bird, with open wings, which, as we approach, turns into an orchid. 195 "The gentleman who broke them glasses can settle for his part of the fun," he said, as he paid his reckoning. Then he drew Cairness aside and held out the limp wrist to be bound, supporting it with his other hand. And presently they went out from the restaurant, where the powder smoke was added to the other smells, and hung low, in streaks, in the thick atmosphere, to hunt up a surgeon. "Come in," said her husband. He was pouring out a drink of whiskey. It was now the turn of the French to triumph, and of the Allies to suffer consternation. Louis, once more elate, ordered Te Deum to be sung in Notre Dame, and all Paris was full of rejoicing. He declared that God had given a direct and striking proof of the justice of his cause and of the guilty obstinacy of the Allies. His plenipotentiaries assumed at Utrecht such arrogance that their very lacqueys imitated them; and those of Mesnager insulted one of the plenipotentiaries, Count von Richteren, and Louis justified them against all complaints. In such circumstances, all rational hope of obtaining peace except on the disgraceful terms accepted by England vanished. WILLIAM HOGARTH. The regiment moved off at the head of the brigade, and after a march of a mile or so came out upon a hill from which they could see one of our batteries having an unequal fight with several of the rebel batteries in a fort far to its front. Our cannoneers were standing up bravely to their work, but the rebel shells were bursting about them in a wild storm of crashing, deafening explosions, and hurtling, shrieking masses of iron. The sharp crack of their own rifles was at times drowned by the ear-splitting din of the bursting shells. Albin sighed. "Slavery," he said. "You think of slavery and it all rises up in front of you—Greece, India, China, Rome, England, the United States—all the past before the Confederation, all the different slaves." He grinned again. Thats why i mentioned Control... Priest can afford to play understated cards since the class is flooded with comeback mechanisms (aoe) and healing.

Hate it. If one guy gets lucky the game is decided on turn 1 , and thats not something im looking foreward to.
