instead of letting blizzard do the work for the card you feel like you can't handle just try to find a workaround like putting Saboteur in your decks to make it more expensive or The Black Knight which also handles Ancient of War pretty well. If you take some time thinking about it eventually you'll come up with some genius meta decisions farming all the shamans in no time.
That's not gonna happen if you go to hearthpwn and write some whiny thread about this or that card needing a nerf though
I mean its probably the best card in Shaman but I still think Shaman would be the best class without it. Right now the only problem with the Meta isn't so much that Shaman cards are super overpowered but rather that Shaman is really the only Class with good cards. That's the reason basically every class in good in Wild. There's just more cards so every class has good options. Pretty sure the next set should be able to sort everything out for long enough and then Shaman will go back to being unplayable after TGT rotates out.

everything about the current Shaman is way too strong. It has like a 70% win rate, there are no counters, it gets bought by one hundred percent of pros at every tourney, it gets banned by one hundred percent of pros at every tourney, Blizzard new they were not nerfing its strongest cards when they nerfed other classes strongest cards and assumed we'd be cool with concede skipping our way to the next standard rotation, I can't tell you how many streamers I have heard say their Shaman decks only lose to other Shaman decks.
Although mid range shaman is really strong regardless of Thing from Below, that card is probably the one that pushes it over the edge, mostly because they can still put up a strong board after a clear without spending much mana.
Think of it. Just 2 totems and its undercosted. Play tuskarr and golem on curve and the thing from below is already too cheap. Any more totems make it just ridiculous. It should start at 8 mana or even more.

Is a 4/3 for 3 that makes the opponents hero power not worth casting... not worth it to you?
How about Mind Control Technician as most shamans flood the board with 4 or more minions... makes stealing one worthwhile. Sylvanas can work as well.
I recommend people stop the whine threads about single cards as you can probably look up "Nerf" and find a bunch of shaman threads this one could've went into.
Thing From Below is best at 4 or less Mana, so this would require summoning 2 totems in a turn. Hero Power + 1 Mana spell with Witchdoctor out means 7 Mana. Which I mean, it works with Wicked Witchdoctor for sure, but I think would be hard to gain value even in a totem deck that's focusing on tempo throughout the game.
Another possibility is to simply make the cost reduction occur when it's in hand. That way it's a bad top deck, whereas in Midrange Shaman it's currently amazing because you can usually play it for free or near to. Making it reduce in hand would also force totem decks to consider keeping it in an opening mulligan so they can T2 totem -> T3 totem -> T4 Thing From Below. Control Shaman would still run it because even if it's top decked in late game, they might not mind playing it at 6 mana on turns where the board has been wiped.
I tried being reasonable, I didn't like it. - Thing from Below.

‘Yes, but you thought him silly, and you thought me silly.’ "Because I read your errand in your eyes. But I am not afraid now." Three soldiers stood before the open door and amused themselves by provoking these people in the most inhuman manner, by abusing them and telling them that later on they would be hanged or shot. The poor fellows shivered and their teeth clattered. I, the newly arrived "swine," was treated in much the same way, but I reduced the insolent blusterers into the quietest people of the world by warning them that by and by I would ask the commanding officer whether his soldiers had the right to call a Netherlander a "swine." That put some heart into my fellow-victims, and I urged them that they would do best by replying calmly to any questions which the commanding officer might put177 to them. Then he drew Cairness aside and held out the limp wrist to be bound, supporting it with his other hand. And presently they went out from the restaurant, where the powder smoke was added to the other smells, and hung low, in streaks, in the thick atmosphere, to hunt up a surgeon. "Come in," said her husband. He was pouring out a drink of whiskey. It was now the turn of the French to triumph, and of the Allies to suffer consternation. Louis, once more elate, ordered Te Deum to be sung in Notre Dame, and all Paris was full of rejoicing. He declared that God had given a direct and striking proof of the justice of his cause and of the guilty obstinacy of the Allies. His plenipotentiaries assumed at Utrecht such arrogance that their very lacqueys imitated them; and those of Mesnager insulted one of the plenipotentiaries, Count von Richteren, and Louis justified them against all complaints. The regiment moved off at the head of the brigade, and after a march of a mile or so came out upon a hill from which they could see one of our batteries having an unequal fight with several of the rebel batteries in a fort far to its front. Our cannoneers were standing up bravely to their work, but the rebel shells were bursting about them in a wild storm of crashing, deafening explosions, and hurtling, shrieking masses of iron. The sharp crack of their own rifles was at times drowned by the ear-splitting din of the bursting shells. Albin sighed. "Slavery," he said. anyone else thinks, that this card is just way to strong in current shaman meta right now?
should be nerfed imo.

When they nerfed Molten Giant the reason they gave is you shouldnt be able to get such a big minion for free with minimal risk.
...Then they released Thing From Below and Arcane Giant.

I'd say the nerf needed to Thing From Below should be like Bolvar or like that one Druid Beast card that no one plays; Knight of The Wild I think?
It'll only reduce it's cost while it's in your hand. I think that's fair for a 0 Mana 5/5 Taunt.
7 mana would be better

Making it cost 1 less for each time you used your hero power would lower its power level considerably.

Totems summoned by hero power WON'T be counted , that is enough nerf IMO.
Always rank 15-20.

Costs (1) less for each totem summoned, but not less than (2). And you could un-nerf Molten and give all Giants the same treatment.
Give your Totems +1 Attack
